A clear privacy baseline.

These principles guide how a privacy-conscious version of MagicType should handle information.

Purpose first

Information should have a clear reason for being collected and used.

Protected access

Access should be limited to people and services that need it.

Clear choices

Privacy requests should be understandable and easy to make.

Security mindset

Technical and organizational safeguards help reduce privacy risk.

This page is a product-ready policy draft. Data storage, retention, subprocessors, and regional requirements must match the released app before publication.

Information MagicType may collect

MagicType may collect information you provide directly, including account details, support requests, feedback, and information connected to a purchase or subscription.

When you choose an AI writing feature, the text needed to complete that request may be processed. Technical information may also include device type, operating system, app version, diagnostics, and feature usage.

How information may be used

Information may be used to provide requested features, maintain accounts, process transactions, answer support requests, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

MagicType may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product performance when that information can no longer reasonably identify an individual.

AI features and text processing

Text submitted to an AI feature may be transmitted for processing so MagicType can return the requested edit, translation, reply, or suggestion. Avoid submitting sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

AI features may rely on third-party infrastructure. Current provider, retention, and model-training details should be confirmed against the released product before this policy is published.

Sharing and service providers

Information may be shared with vendors that support hosting, AI processing, analytics, payments, customer support, security, and other product operations. These providers should receive only the information needed for their role.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and security

Retention periods may vary by information type, product feature, legal requirement, and operational need. Information should be deleted or de-identified when it is no longer required.

MagicType should use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information. You may also be able to object to certain processing or withdraw consent.

To make a request, email hello@magictype.app. MagicType may need to verify your identity before completing it.

Children, transfers, and policy updates

MagicType is not directed to children. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact MagicType so the situation can be reviewed.

Information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws. This policy may change as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates should be communicated through the app, website, or another appropriate channel.
